Vaccine survey results, gift cards drawing, and more

Congrats to the lucky residents picked in the vaccine survey drawing! The winners have been contacted directly.

A big thank you to everyone at Bienestar for sharing your vaccine experience with us. Your stories have been both inspiring and informative.

What are the results?

Over 80% of residents surveyed are vaccinated! That’s a higher rate than all of Oregon! A majority of residents also reported getting the Moderna vaccine at the Virginia Garcia clinic and we are grateful for their support in creating vaccine access from early on.

Quotes from residents:

“Get vaccinated, my people, nothing bad happens, the bad thing is seeing a relative, a neighbor or a friend suffer with that dangerous disease.” – Gioconda, Montebello

“I understand the fear that one has, I had it, but I began to think that if they give it to the doctors first, it is enough evidence to get it and it will motivate me more to do it for my family. If something comes to me through that virus, who will take care of my family? For that reason I got it. Thank you.” – Erasto, Jose Arciga

“In the first vaccination I did not have any symptoms. The second vaccination gave me muscle pain, fever, and headache. The day after I started the second dose was when I started to have the effects.” – Esmeralda Mejia, Montebell

“Get the vaccine, the flu vaccine hurts more. This one does not hurt and if it hurts a little or you feel a little bad, it is better to get sick one day for a few hours and not go to the hospital for days alone.” Maria, Montebello

“Let’s all get vaccinated for the good of the whole community.” – Aure, Juniper Gardens
