Governor Brown announces new, stricter regulations

Governor Brown announces new, stricter regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19 through December 2; Washington County could face longer restrictions

Alarmed by a dramatic and sustained uptick in new cases of COVID-19, Oregon governor Kate Brown has announced strict regulations meant to decrease interactions among Oregonians. It is imperative that all Bienestar residents follow these new regulations. Cases and deaths are not only rising at an alarming rate in Oregon and Washington County; they are rising in Bienestar communities. Every property has at least one active COVID-19 case and we are hearing about new outbreaks every day. We must do everything we can to save lives, be strong.

Right now and through the holiday season, it’s important to remember to follow the general safety guidelines that will keep you and your loved ones healthy. This year, gathering for meals with people outside of your immediate household is limited to 6 people, enforceable by law.

  • Always stay home and avoid others if you are sick and seek medical care
  • Limit social gatherings to no more than 6 people total, from no more than 2 households – indoor and outdoor
  • Only go out for essential needs and travel, stay home if you can
  • Always wear a mask inside and outdoors unless you are eating
  • Wash and sanitize your hands frequently
  • Physically distance from at-risk family members and anyone who is not part of your household

Alternatives to keep your family safe during the holidays:

  • Enjoy a meal with members of your immediate household only
  • Stay home and celebrate with family or friends with a phone call or FaceTime
  • Instead of a family or buffet style dining, try preparing individual food plates so there’s no sharing utensils
  • If you gather with others from outside your household, be outside if possible and always wear a face mask indoors and outdoors unless you are eating or drinking
  • Gather with no more than 6 people
  • Be sure everyone washes their hands thoroughly and dries them before and after eating
