Celebrate Latinx Heritage

Bienestar, it’s time to — safely — celebrate! From September 15 – October 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month will honor and celebrate Hispanic and Latinx cultures with festivities, fun and educational activities and traditions!

El Grito Community Festival kicks off the month at Shute Park in Hillsboro on September 18th! Celebrate El Grito, Mexico’s Independence Day, and the independence from Spain of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Honduras. Festivities include:

✅Live Music

✅Kids’ activities

✅Hot food and vendors

✅Community booths

✅A traditional El Grito de la Independencia ceremony

✅Lots of fun!

Good health and safety are part of the party so vaccines will be available at El Grito by Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center’s mobile vaccine clinic.

The event, hosted by the City of Hillsboro and Centro Cultural, will begin at 3 pm and go until 8 pm, at 750 SE 8th Avenue, Hillsboro. Click Here for more information.
