Meet some of the hardworking, dedicated, inspiring people who make the Bienestar community extraordinary.
Lilian Odette Flores
Lilian spent her first years in the United States doing backbreaking labor in the fields, picking strawberries, cucumbers, and grapes to earn enough money to send home to her family. As a single mother, she had to balance her family, her demanding work, and finding safe and stable housing.
It was a relief when she moved into a Bienestar property. She was able to save money and gain financial stability. Her family grew and flourished within her newfound community, and her four grandchildren were born and raised in Bienestar housing.
Beatriz Osuna
Beatriz moved to Oregon with nothing more than her family and her unshakeable determination. As a Promotora, she’s rediscovered her sense of pride and community. As a lead promotora, she keeps Bienestar accountable to the people who live in its properties and is a voice for residents.
Adrian Lopez
A Stable Place to Call Home
Our client, Adrian Lopez, was living on and off in a tent in his sister’s backyard when he came into Bienestar’s supportive housing services (SHS) program. Thanks to his work with our SHS Program Manager, Maria Hernandez, he was able to move into safe, stable housing.
