Jose Arciga

Built in 1994, José Arciga Apartments was the first scattered site project (4 buildings on 3 sites in 2 cities) for Bienestar and for the construction lender Bank of America. Providing 50 units of affordable housing, the José Arciga Apartments are named in memory of a 7-year-old Washington County boy who passed away from congenital birth defects due to the exposure of pesticides his mother, a farmworker, had experienced. José Arciga Apartments won the Governor’s Livability Award in 2002.
