27 Jun Bienestar supports immigrant rights
Bienestar has always stood firmly in solidarity with immigrants. In light of the recent Supreme Court decision on the travel ban and the heartless separation and detention of families on our southern borders, we want to make it clear that we unequivocally support the immigrant community, as members of our family, important leaders and friends and neighbors. The anti-immigrant actions of this administration do not make America great, nor do they represent our proud, thriving, diverse communities.
We deeply believe that immigrants enrich our community and strengthen our economy. The sharing of culture and opportunity is deeply ingrained in the fabric of our nation. America would not be great without the contributions of countless immigrants over the course of our history.
Bienestar believes strongly in the rights of immigrants and refugees as human beings and aspiring Americans. We will speak up and advocate for them, and ask that all of our supporters do the same.
On June 30th, we will be on the streets in Portland and Hillsboro marching in solidarity with immigrants. Please join us if you can. (Portland) (Hillsboro)
The Esperanza Fund at Centro Cultural provides financial aid to those affected by unjust immigration policy. Please donate if you can. (Donate here)
