In mid-April, Oregon saw a higher rate of case growth than any other state in the nation. Last week, Governor Brown moved 15 counties back to \u201cExtreme Risk,\u201d including our neighbors, Multnomah, Columbia and Clackamas counties. Washington County remains in \u201cHigh Risk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The B.1.1.7 variant of the coronavirus, the strain first detected in the UK in December, is now the dominant strain in Oregon and health experts believe it is fueling this fourth surge of COVID-19. <strong>The strain is more contagious<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is good news: Studies show that the vaccines are effective against this and other new strains. Also, nationwide, cases are declining and more and more people are getting vaccinated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean for Bienestar?<\/strong> <strong>What do we need to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Get vaccinated as soon as you can. Protect yourself, your family and your neighbors.
