These are responses to questions directly from Bienestar residents received on the COVID-19 vaccination survey<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have not yet filled out the survey, you <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/vacuna-COVID\">still can let us know how you feel about <\/a>the vaccine.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bienestar-or.org\/news-press\/covid-vaccine\/\">Click here for an entire list of FAQ\u2019s and latest information<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>What are the side effects?<\/strong><ul><li>Remember: Side effects are very NORMAL<\/li><li>Most common: Sore arm, fatigue, headaches, chills, muscle pain<\/li><li>Less common: Fever and shivering<\/li><li>Effects are more common after 2nd dose and last 1 or 2 days<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Can I have more information about the allergic reactions to the vaccine?<\/strong><ul><li>Rate of reported allergic reaction &#8211; anaphylaxis &#8211; is rare, 11.1 cases for every million doses<\/li><li>Sites will have epinephrine and you\u2019ll be monitored for 15-30 minutes afterwards<\/li><li>Do not get the vaccine if you are allergic to Polysorbate or polyethylene glycol (PEG)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Is the vaccine safe?<\/strong><ul><li>Yes, it is approved by the FDA.\u00a0<\/li><li>CDC states: \u201cPotential benefits of this vaccine outweigh the known and potential harms of becoming infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19).\u201d<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Can children get the vaccine?<\/strong><ul><li>No. Clinical trials on children under 16 have not been completed yet. Typically, vaccines are first tested on adults.\u00a0<\/li><li>Pfizer began testing on children as young as 12 in September but the results are not out.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Is it safe for pregnant women?<\/strong><ul><li>Studies have not been done in pregnant women, however experts believe vaccines are safe and that pregnant women should receive one. Consult with your doctor.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>What will the vaccine cost?\u00a0<\/strong><ul><li>It is free. Insurance is NOT required. Bring insurance information if you have it.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Should I get the vaccine if I already had COVID-19?<\/strong><ul><li>\u00a0Yes. Experts do not know how long immunity lasts once you have been infected. If you\u2019ve had COVID-19, wait at least 90 days before getting the vaccine.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>When will it be available?\u00a0<\/strong><ul><li>Oregon is only receiving a limited number of doses so it is not available for everyone yet.
